Dennis Severs House
When you enter Dennis Severs' house, you step into 1724. The artist saw the house as a living piece of art, and intentionally decorated it according to historical period. It's a perfect time capsule of the 18th century, and the sights and sounds transport you back to an entirely different world and way of life. Walk through the home's 10 rooms by candlelight (tours are also conducted in silence), and in addition to viewing the lush interiors and portraits on the walls, you'll smell and hear the goings-on of the fictional family of silk-weavers that supposedly inhabits the space.
