Country Club Lima Hotel
The Country Club, constructed in 1927, is the choice of presidents—France’s former leader Charles de Gaulle once spent the night here. The colonial-style building in leafy San Isidro is an 83-room hotel filled with Peruvian art from Lima’s Museo Pedro de Osma, brocade-covered chairs, gilt mirrors, and mahogany armoires; the look is traditional, the service attentive. King-size beds are the standard. Keen golfers can tee off at the 18-hole course located opposite the hotel, then freshen up at the oak-paneled English Bar, which has airs of a gentlemen’s club, with an obligatory pisco sour.
