Wells Reserve at Laudholm
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Wells Reserve at Laudholm is a National Estuarine Research Reserve that protects 2,250 acres of surrounding wetlands, marshes, beaches, and woodlands. Located off Route 9, the organization’s headquarters are housed in the restored Laudholm Farm buildings, most of which date from the 1800’s. The buildings contain exhibits on estuarine research, as well as maps of the surrounding trails. Covering a total of seven miles, the trails range from easy to moderate and are open year-round for hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and guided nature walks.
