Hanakapiai Beach
With its name meaning “bay sprinkling food,” the remote Hanakapi’ai Beach on the rugged Na Pali coast sits at the end of the Kalalau Trail, a challeging hike that takes about three hours round trip. Scenic photo opportunities can be found here, but because of the shallow area created by a sandbar, Hanakapi’ai is too dangerous for swimming and even wading due to strong rip currents that have claimed many victims. One-night camping permits can be obtained for this beach.
