Sabanci University Sakip Sabanci Museum
Ottoman manuscripts and calligraphic compositions form the core collection at this Ottoman-era mansion, donated by the Sabanci family and opened as a museum in 2002. Paintings by both Turkish and foreign artists, as well as furnishings and decorative arts evoke the lives and lifestyles past of Ottoman Istanbul. Follow a visit to the galleries with a stroll in the museum's gardens overlooking the Bosporus and lunch or dinner at Muzedechanga restaurant, which serves contemporary Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine in a glass box annexed to the Museum. Entrance is free on Wednesdays.
