Beat your own path around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, an area known for its rich Viking history and located approximately two hours from Reykjavik. Start in Stykkisholmur, largely considered Iceland’s cutest village for its fjord-side positioning and clutch of charming Danish-style homes. At the far end of the peninsula is Snæfellsjökull National Park, which frames a very petite glacier. Many consider this to be one of the Earth’s chakras (spiritual retreats are regularly held in the area). Even Jules Verne featured the ice cap as the gateway to his center of the earth.
