A bistro, cafe, cultural center, and an exhibition space all in one, Skaftfell is one of the largest structures in small-town Seydisfjordur. After admiring the current presentations or perusing the contemproary art book store, retreat to the Bistro. White walls and low-slung wooden beams make the hybrid space feel like a cozy bolthole for weather-worn fishermen. Art books abound and are best enjoyed with an oversized coffee or a wood-fired pizza. Because Skaftfell doubles as the Dieter Roth Academy, the late artist's works are prominently on display.
