Fluff Bake Bar
Pastry chef Rebecca Masson earned her stellar reputation providing desserts for trendy and high-end restaurants and top bakeries in town, becoming such a beloved local figure that her brick and mortar concept was funded in part by a successful Kickstarter campaign. Housed on a pedestrian-packed street in vibrant Midtown, the graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris writes her daily here-til-they're-gone specials on pink butcher paper. The décor is modern at this traditional bakery by day and dessert bar by night, and sweet and savory desserts are paired with wine on a multi-course tasting menu. The Willy Wonka-inspired walls in the restrooms created by a local graffiti artist set the tone for classic desserts with Masson's irreverent twist, like Cup Cakes (cupcakes served in a cup with a spoon) alongside seasonal tarts, traditional French macarons, black and white cookies, and other sugary staples.
