JW Marriott Houston Downtown
The city's second JW Marriott made a splashy debut when it opened downtown in the historic Samuel F. Carter Building (once Houston's tallest). Art takes center stage here, with a careful dedication to Texas-made paintings, sculptures, and furniture throughout the property, in addition to a German-made augmented sculpture in the open-plan, modern lobby. The hotel also houses the brand's first Spa by JW in the country. Rooms are outfitted with iPod stations, touch screen room controls, and iPads. Rates for the 328 rooms vary—there are 56 suites, including four spa-centric ones, four fully furnished apartments, and two Presidential Suites.
