Fête
It’s usually the more adventurous tourist that heads to Honolulu’s slightly gritty Chinatown (relatively far from the hotels in Waikiki), but those who do are rewarded with a few of the island’s truly exceptional restaurants, including Fête, opened in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Chuck Bussler and Robynne Mai’i. Fête’s New American menu includes one of the best burgers on the island (served with caramelized onions, tomatoes from Kula, Maui, and roasted-garlic aioli). The experience is made all the better by its comfortable dining room with exposed-brick walls and modern, blown-glass light fixtures.
