Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa
Opened in 1901, the grand, white-columned Moana Surfrider still maintains its Beaux-Arts charm, exuding a traditional appeal that’s found nowhere else in Waikiki. Afternoon tea here is a treat—on the veranda under an old banyan tree, guests nibble on finger sandwiches and pastries accompanied by a selection of teas infused with tropical flavors like lilikoi, papaya, and mango while listening to a live Hawaiian band. The hotel’s 536 guest rooms, meanwhile, received a $21 million face-lift in 2014, giving them a bright and cheerful color scheme.
