Bar de L'Oubli
Just across the street from Le Select and hugging a corner in downtown Gustavia, Bar De L’Oubli has been around since 1981. A favorite with locals, it’s still one of the few places to get a reasonably priced cocktail on the island. They serve a light breakfast (pancakes; tartines), as well as salads and paninis at lunch and dinner. But the drink menu is a lot more extensive, with champagne cocktails (14 Euros—the top of the line) to a glass of Bordeaux, aperitifs, digestifs, and specialty martinis. It’s casual, totally unpretentious, and great for people watching—but word to the wise, they don’t take credit cards. Seating is covered, so if you get caught without an umbrella, this is an easy place to kill an hour. Or two.
