This magnificent 1774 Georgian townhouse (which lingered in a semi-ruined state for years before it was transformed in 1981) is one of Dublin’s most stylish shopping destinations. More than forty shops and restaurants encircle the former courtyard, now a light-filled atrium bustling with visitors. The focus is on Irish design, antiques and fashion—the jewelry options are particularly good. Occasionally, a pianist will take up residence, filling the space with tinkling jazz. There are several dining options, mostly of the café variety—the cakes in the Pepper Pot Café are top notch, as are the homemade bagels.
