Fallon & Byrne
The opening of Fallon & Byrne in 2006 was something of a turning point for the foodie scene in Dublin. An emporium in the vein of Dean & DeLuca, the store is stocked with the kind of foodstuffs that gourmands dream of. Ten years later, customers still flock in to pick up a coffee at the counter, or a warm loaf of sourdough in the bakery. Upstairs, the full-service restaurant is something of a surprise compared to the hubbub below, but the dishes are exemplary—the tiny salted caramel donuts served with dessert are the stuff of legend.
