Stained Glass Bistro
Located 30 minutes north of Chicago, this Evanston bistro pairs creative New American cuisine with an extensive selection of international wines. The candlelit dining room is warm and inviting, with hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and wooden shelves lined with wine bottles. In the kitchen, Mexican-born chef Victor Hernandez prepares starters like the foie gras “BLT,” served with applewood-smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes, microgreens, and white-truffle mayonnaise, and entrées such as Australian rack of lamb with chanterelle mushrooms and parmesan-truffle crème brûlée. The wine list includes 250 bottles, along with 32 by-the-glass selections and a variety of tasting flights.
