Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s phenomenally popular restaurant forged a new, anti-Michelin style of cooking because of its simplicity. Dedicated to fresh, local produce, Oliver lets the flavors and textures speak for themselves, and the results are tasty without being intimidating. The menu changes daily, but some of the popular dishes include loin of free-range-pork porchetta style (stuffed with garlic and herbs then roasted) from Pete Gott’s farm (a lake district pork producer), with roasted seasonal vegetables including carrots, parsnips, new potatoes, green beans, or salsa verde; and char-grilled sea bream with a Sicilian salad of shaved fennel, orange, pine nuts, and a marjoram salmoriglio dressing. Interiors are contemporary and cool—lots of pink, white leather banquettes and booths, and graffiti art—befitting the trendy Hoxton location. Book for dinner at least one week in advance.
