Rubell Family Collection
It doesn't get more authentically Miami than an avant-garde contemporary art collection housed in a former DEA warehouse. Miami Beach hotel barons, the Rubell family, hosts its privately owned rotating collections at a cavernous two-story warehouse in the design district. Pioneers in the Miami model of private collectors creating public foundations, the Rubell family founded Miami's Contemporary Arts Foundation in 1994. Accessible to the public, the family's 45,000 square-foot-space hosts an art research library alongside the works of pop-art artists like Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons.
