Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Recent transplants to Denver and long-time locals all have one thing in common: everyone loves Red Rocks. And for good reason. Located a mere 25-minute drive from the city, Red Rocks is famous for being the only naturally occurring, acoustically ideal amphitheater in the world. If you're able to catch a concert, that's obviously the first choice for what to do there. But active types can enjoy the iconic rock formations by running the stairs (don't forget your water) or hiking the 1.4-mile Trading Post Trail. In the summer, don't miss Film on the Rocks, an almost weekly event that pairs local bands with crowd-pleasing movies and lets you watch under the stars.
