Clyfford Still Museum
If you need an indoor activity on a rainy day, check out the marvelous Clyfford Still Museum—opened in November 2011—for a focused look at the iconic artist's work. The airy, industrial galleries provide a serene backdrop for Still's large-format, brightly covered canvases that burst with color. But you'll also see lesser-known pieces, like Still's paper drawings, notebooks, and sketchbooks. The museum is worth a trip even if you've seen Still's work elsewhere; curators have access to a 3,000-piece collection, most of which has never been on public view. This is a must-do for anyone interested in 20th-century art or Abstract Expressionism.
