Receiving about 25 feet of snowfall each year, this Colorado ski hill is renowned for its expert runs (double-black diamond)—some with up to 50 percent grades. Sixteen lifts provide access to the rugged and steep terrain, located in the Elk Mountain Range of the Rockies. But the bulk of the trails rate as intermediate, with options also for beginners. Freeskiers come to the mountain for the jumps and terrain parks, like the 1,800-foot Gold Link. Other facilities range from a tubing hill and snowshoeing trails to ziplines and year-round skating on the synthetic ice rink.
