The Langham, Chicago
Set in the first 13 floors of Mies van der Rohe’s iconic IBM building, the legendary architect’s last work, the Langham dazzles with its original travertine walls, granite floors, and 22-foot high ceilings. Works by notable artists (Claus Oldenberg, Anish Kapoor) are peppered throughout the hotel, while glass globes crown the stunning, glitzy lobby—which was designed by van der Rohe’s grandson, Dirk Lohan. The sophisticated, spacious rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer incredible views of both the skyline and Chicago River.
