936 Piedras St., Buenos Aires, , Argentina

Héctor Villalba, a tango legend, restored and transformed this 100-year-old San Telmo mansion into a tango-themed boutique hotel and academy. Lessons take place everyday in the property’s own dance hall, and the staff are almost always eager to accompany guests to milongas, the all-night tango parties that take place all over town. Each of the 30 high ceilinged guest rooms, named after renowned Argentinean Tango artists such as Carlos Gardel and Mariano Mores, is decorated with charming period furniture and original art along with tango murals painted by famed Argentine artist Abel J. Magnani.
