Hotel bars in Bermuda are great for a pre-dinner Dark and Stormy or a nightcap before bed, but if you’re searching for a night out on the town, go straight to Hamilton, where you’ll find the majority of the hotspots. The best of the bunch is Harry’s, a fine-dining restaurant near Pitts Bay marina that’s packed with island power brokers at the stroke of 5pm every Friday—the island’s busiest night of the week. Another popular spot in town for nightlife in Bermuda is the Pickled Onion, a Front Street favorite where dining room tables eventually give way to a raucous dance party in front of the live in-house band, as is Café Cairo, a dimly lit lounge that’s ultimately where the majority of Bermuda’s socialites end up since it’s one of two bars open until 3am (the other is Docksider). If you’re anywhere near the island’s east end, don’t miss the Swizzle Inn—located in Bailey’s Bay, it’s the original home of the Bermuda rum swizzle—and if you’re out west, grab a table at the Frog & Onion, an English pub housed in an old stone cooperage at the Royal Naval Dockyard.
