The Nationalgalerie's Hamburger Bahnhof location is widely considered one of the largest and most important public collections of contemporary art in the world. The art museum is located within a converted 19th-century railway station designed in a late Neoclassical style. Hamburger Bahnhof displays works from the 1960s through the present, including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and Joseph Beuys. If you happen to be in town for an exhibition opening, you would be wise to attend. They throw some of the city's best art parties.
