Yume St. Barth
St. Bart’s has some excellent concept stores—this spacious spot off the main drag in St.-Jean, on the road to Salines Beach, is one of them. You won’t find a lot of color, and that’s a deliberate choice by the owner, Tina Palla. Rather, everything for sale, from the luxurious Su caftans to the pillows to the banana-fiber table runners from Uganda, is made from top quality materials in hues of beige, brown, black, or white. The jewelry, in particular, makes for a great souvenir: look at the Girls from St. Barth rope jewelry and the silver rings by Amy Glenn. And if you’ve got little ones, the Kenana Knitters stuffed animals, which are handmade in Kenya, are the way to go.
