Known for decades as Lucas Carton, Senderens occupies a site that's been home to Paris restaurants for three of the last four centuries. Chef Alain Senderens, whose Lucas Carton held three Michelin stars for 28 years, voluntarily gave up the stars in 2010 to remake his restaurant with one goal: simpler offerings for a lower price. Under this Michelin-free creative freedom, Senderens features Art Nouveau décor and a short, but potent, menu of French specialties paired with Asian Mediterranean accents (think: roasted lamb with curry, mango and lemongrass).
