Le Bistral
A bit off the beaten tourist track in the Batignolles area of the Seventeenth Arrondissement, Le Bistral is a rustic chic “gastro-restro” with a twist: The chef—who serves up inventive versions of French classics—is Japanese. Veteran of several haute cuisine Parisian kitchens, chef Yasuhiro Kanayama ably commands a menu featuring French comfort foods such as duck breast with mashed potatoes and the Italian-inspired vitello tonnato, a veal in herbed tuna sauce. With mosaic-tile tabletops and exposed brick walls, Le Bistral is an unpretentious neighborhood bistro.
