Traveling during the holidays can get expensive, but if you're flexible about where you spend the merry season, you can spend the last days of the year overeating, not overspending.

Expedia has pulled data on the cheapest destinations (both within the U.S. and internationally) to spend the holidays, focusing on places where hotel and flight bundles are significantly cheaper this year than they were in 2015. The results are based on the travel between November 18 and 24 and December 18 and 24. • Cancun, Isla Mujeres (Mexico)
  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
  • Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Tulum (Mexico)
  • Los Cabos, Mexico
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit (Mexico)
  • London, England
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • Aruba
  • Paris, France

Why so many destinations in Mexico? It could be explained by a crucial air transportation agreement between the United States and Mexico that went into effect this August. Basically an unlimited number of airlines can now operate flights between the countries. More routes means cheaper flights.

Expedia also broke down the top destinations for saving overall, using booking data from January through June of this year. The most affordable cities, compared to the previous year, were Rome, London, and Paris, where package prices were down more than 35 percent. The full list is below.
