Since United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines significantly expanded their service to the islands, it’s been possible to consistently purchase flights to Hawaii from the West Coast for under $400.
In November, for example, nonstop flights from Oakland to Kahului can be purchased for $345 round-trip. And from the New York City area, it’s still possible to score round-trip tickets under $600.
But now Hawaiian hotels are slashing their prices, too. At the Honua Kai Resort & Spa on Maui’s Kaanapali Beach, for example, travelers can instantly save $100 on published rates. (They’ll even throw in a complimentary sand castle kit, binoculars, sun hats and sunscreen, or a fully stocked beach cooler.) This fall, rooms at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa are available for $244 per night — or $144 with the promotion.
At the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel (pictured above), travelers can book the four-night Sunny Side Up package, which includes a complimentary lunch and dinner for two, as well as breakfast for two on two mornings, as well as a two-day rental of either snorkel gear or umbrellas and chaise lounges on the beach. The package includes a four-day car rental, for a total savings of nearly $440.
Meanwhile, on Oahu, guests at Turtle Bay Resort can enjoy their fourth night free. The 850-acre property is known for its wide array of activities, including horseback riding at the on-site equestrian center, mountain biking, and surfing.
