The city of London is considering implementing a “tourist tax” that would increase nightly rates at hotels by 5 percent.

“London is the number one destination for tourists in the world," London Mayor Sadiq Khan said in a press conference last week. "Hotels do very well out of that. What we're saying is when the tourists come they opt to pay a small level which will help improve the city."

A cafe in Chicago has banned all laptops in favor of “books and conversation.”

Kibbitznest, in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, is determined to bring guests back to the pre-Internet days of cafe culture, when people would meet at coffee shops and bars to converse or read a book instead of work on a laptop.

The world’s first crane 'treehouse' is a genius way to escape city life

No longer do we need trees to build treehouses.

The world’s first treehouse crane opened on Tuesday in Bristol, England.

The unusual lodging, called Crane 29, is a pop-up experience by Canopy & Stars, a European travel agency that specializes in unique, nature-based accommodations. Through the end of September, the treehouse will hang 26 feet above Bristol’s harborside.

An Air France flight on its way from Paris to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Canada on Saturday after an engine exploded mid-air.

The Airbus A380, which has four engines, landed safely in Goose Bay. Photos from passengers show extensive damage to the engine.
