A Kenya native, Sanghrajka has spent the past 25 years traveling throughout Africa, building close relationships and a wide network on the continent. He’s a regular visitor to countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa, and is committed to traveling responsibly (i.e. contributing to conservation efforts and community-based sustainable travel). He is also attuned to up-and-coming trends and the best of what’s cresting in Africa, often basing trips around seeing the new Museum of Contemporary Art in Cape Town and the blossoming food scenes in cities like Maputo, Mozambique and Nairobi.
Still, adventure travel and safaris are at the heart of what Sanghrajka does, and a recent two-week trip for a family of four included visits to Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara in Tanzania, and the Northern Serengeti, Masai Mara, and Laikipia in Kenya. Night game drives, guided walking safaris, hot air balloon rides, meetings with Maasai warriors and local families were all a part of the experience, along with stays at some of the region’s best accomodations like Mara Plains Camp, Segera Retreat, and Chem Chem Lodge.
"Sunit knew how much I appreciated luxury while also appreciating any savings opportunities to meet that objective. He did an excellent job of preparing an amazing experience at a reasonable price by pointing out the "low season" options. Once my itinerary was booked with Sunit, I received a very detailed beautiful pocket size travel book that had my complete journey in it along with packing tips, and alerts to be familiar with. This came in handy as it was small enough to review and did not scream "tourist, I don't know what I'm doing." His level of detail was exceptional, and placed me in the most fabulous accommodations with nightly surprises. Due to his relationships with his host cities, I always received an upgraded room with a bottle of wine or champagne along with a welcome note. Everything — including the transportation — went smoothly. I was most impressed with not just the selection of lodging and safari activities but even details I would not have thought of on my own. For example, I had an amazing experience while staying at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge — a helicopter ride over the safari area, which was so magical. Then in Victoria Falls, I swam in the "devil's den" (a swimming hole above the falls that make for incredible pictures). I never once felt fearful or that I was not in good hands. This is very important as it was my first time traveling independently for such a long trip. Safety was never an issue. It's important to note that if an emergency ever did happen, Alluring Africa has things lined up to triage the situation to return it's guests to safety. They spend a lot of time on the front end planning the details for once-in-a-lifetime experiences. And Sunit was kind enough to stay in touch with me on my entire journey to ensure my comfort and see how things were going." - Jennifer Carraway
