Despite increasing political threats to the National Park Service, demand for travel to our country’s protected wilds has only continued to grow (especially since 2016 when, already at peak tourism levels, the parks celebrated their centennial). Enter Ladvala: her passion and knowledge of the parks stem from her years growing up in the mountains of Montana, where she spent time hiking and camping in Yellowstone. Today, she continues to visit around five parks every year — often by her preferred mode of transportation, the all-American road trip — scouting out high-end lodges and new tour operator offerings. Looking to explore the less visited parts of the parks? Ladvala will show you where to find wildlife moments and uninterrupted views without the crowds, like the more remote ice sheets of Glacier National Park.
