Virtual reality fans in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada can now place pre-orders for the long-awaited Oculus Rift VR headset, which will be hitting retail stores in the countries on September 20.
Pre-orders can be made through the various retailers the company is teaming up with, which includes the following:
- For customers in the UK: Amazon.co.uk, John Lewis, Curry’s PCWorld, GAME Digital plc, and at the Harrods department store in London.
- For customers in France: aAmazon.fr and Fnac.
- For customers in Germany: Amazon.de, MediaMarkt, and Saturn.
- For customers in Canada: Best Buy and Microsoft Store Online.
The Oculus Rift headsets are being sold at a suggested retail price of 549 pounds for UK customers, 699 euros for buyers in Europe, and CAN$849 for Canadian shoppers. Additionally, buyers will receive the headsets with translated packaging, manuals, and software.
Each Rift will include platforming adventure game, Lucky’s Tale, and hundreds of free 3D videos and VR movies.
Oculus will also begin rolling out demo experiences in Europe and Canada within the next few weeks, with the chance to test out solo-rock climbing through The Climb, planetary explorations through Farlands, and whimsical destinations through Oculus Dreamdeck.
