It all ends tonight!
Chip and Joanna Gaines’ mega-popular HGTV show is officially calling it quits after Tuesday. Although we’ll have a weekly dose of the couple for a little longer — their spinoff, Behind the Design, also airs tonight — the series finale is bound to break a few Fixer Upper fans’ hearts. The first stop on the goodbye tour? The famous family’s last demo day.
Their four kids, Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7, have made plenty of appearances during the show’s fifth and final season, but Tuesday night marks the last night they’ll swing a hammer — and ham it up with their dad — on screen.
“As if this demo day couldn’t get any better, Jo’s decided to drop the kids off after school to do a little demo with their old man,” Chip says in the clip above.
The mini construction crew gets busy knocking down a wall in their parents’ project, a home remodel for MxPx singer Mike Herrera and his family. Because it wouldn’t be Fixer Upper without a few quips from Chip, he enthusiastically asks his mini construction crew, “Raise your hand if you’re going to go through the wall!”
The adorable foursome goes quiet, resulting in their contractor dad saying, “OK I’m on my own.”
He does “make a pretty good dent” in the divider (although his daughters look a little concerned about the attempt), and turns to his kids to celebrate with a group high five.
“Gaineses, meet me up top!” he says, shouting a “Nice!” to each of his children.
“They’re so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood,” Joanna told PEOPLE in September after making the shocking announcement. “Family is the most important thing in the world.”
As for getting our Chip and Jo fix in a post-Fixer Upper world? Luckily we still have their Target collection, books, Waco tourist attractions and the rest of their home improvement empire to hold us over.
The final episode of Fixer Upper airs Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. EST on HGTV.
