When it comes to travel bags, there’s nothing we love more than one that actually eases your stress on the go. Take, for instance, Paravel’s fold-up bag. If you’ve ever been stuck in a hotel room attempting to pack all the extra stuff you shouldn’t have bought on a trip, it’s a lifesaver. The bag starts as a folded, super packable pouch and unfolds to a full-size bag complete with an interior pocket and a trolley sleeve to go over your carry-on suitcase

Paravel’s nylon fold-up collection, which also includes a fold-up backpack and packing cubes, is so genius that the fold-up bag actually sold 16,000 times in three months and has been restocked seven times. Even Oprah and Kourtney Kardashian are fans of the brand (Oprah featured it on her 2018 Favorite Things List and Kourtney gifted it to her friends during the launch of her lifestyle site Poosh and later featured it on the site).

But after a recent trip to Antarctica to learn more about the climate crisis, Paravel co-founder Indré Rockefeller found herself wondering how her company could make strides to lower its carbon footprint, and that’s when the idea for a better, more sustainable Fold-Up collection was born. Beginning today, all of Paravel’s cult-favorite fold-up styles are available in an upgraded format that uses 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic water bottles for its material.

To kick off Paravel’s roll-out of a full line of sustainable products, you can shop the full Negative Nylon collection, including the Fold-Up Bag, the Fold-Up Backpack, the Packing Cubes Trio, the Mini Fold-Up Backpack, and Shoe Cube Duo, which are now all made from recycled water bottles. Paravel even mentions how many bottles were used for each item, ranging from 22 bottles used for the Fold-Up Bag to 15 used for the Fold-Up Backpack.

While we love Paravel’s new focus on sustainability, the whole line is downright handy at the core of its design — everything is easy to wipe clean and super lightweight, and you can’t forget that it folds down completely flat to fit into any travel bag. Below, you can shop everything from the new and improved (and sustainable) Negative Nylon fold-up collection that’s most likely to sell out super fast. Behold your new favorite travel bags!
