Fitbit’s New Fitness Tracker Will Help You Stay Active During Quarantine

This tracker includes several new features, such as a built-in GPS for pace and distance, 24/7 heart rate tracking, and Spotify controls, which make all kinds of workouts, from running to swimming, more seamless. The GPS, for example, will provide you with real-time pacing information on runs, walks, hikes, and bike rides. After completing a workout, you can reference a workout intensity map in the Fitbit app for a breakdown of your different heart rate zones. There's also a heat map in the app that shows how you perform on different terrains.
I tested the Charge 4 and was impressed with how much it elevated my at-home workouts. As someone who depends on in-person classes for motivation to work out, I initially found it difficult to dedicate the time to exercise on my own at home. One of the main complaints I've always had about working out independently is the lack of direction that comes with it. However, the extra information provided by Fitbit, such as heart rate, active zone minutes, and calories burned, gave me the push I needed to power through a guided exercise video — something I would normally need the watchful eye of an instructor to do. Whether I'm taking a walk around my neighborhood or watching a workout video as part of Fitbit Premium, which is available through a free 90-day trial (there are also free live workouts on Fitbit's Instagram), the motivation and information is helpful. On the Fitbit app, you can access workouts from customer-favorite studios like Physique 57, Barre3, and Obé Fitness, allowing you to exercise with some of the best instructors and complete the routines you know and love.
In addition to helpful workout features, the Charge 4 also includes several other wellness tools, like sleep tracking, personalized reminders that prompt you to stay active and hydrate, and guided breathing sessions.
