I Never Go on a Trip Without This Travel Kit

And somehow, the more I use it, the better it looks.

I am notoriously picky when it comes to products that make it on my permanent packing list. I look for items that last and are multifunctional. For example, I never travel without my Arlo Skye carry-on, a Larq water bottle (which uses a UV-C LED light to eliminate up to 99.99 percent of biocontaminants), or Bluffworks’ wrinkle-proof Gramercy blazer, with its hidden pockets that are perfect for a passport. And this dopp kit has easily become a travel must-have, too. It has everything I look for — quality materials, multifunctionality, and style.

The usability of the Coach Dopp Kit 18 is top-notch. It’s not too large to fit in a carry-on, but it’s not too small that it only packs travel-sized items. I can pack my razor, hair and face products, and hygiene supplies with room to spare. I also love it for its versatility — I can take it to the fanciest Aman hotel or on a backpacking trip in Alaska.

It’s crafted from smooth sport calf leather the color of caramel. Inside, it has a multifunction pocket and zip closure. The main zipper slides with ease, even if the bag is chock-full of a month’s worth of necessities — which leads me to the extended opening that reaches past the top and down the sides: This feature makes it so easy to pack and find what’s inside.

I’ve even found use for it when I’m not traveling, at least in the traditional sense. As I’ve been away from my New York City apartment for most of the pandemic, I’ve been using the kit at my childhood home. It’s small enough to keep in a bathroom drawer, but still easily holds all of my products that I don’t want to leave on the counter.

And I can’t stress how superb the quality is, like most everything that Coach makes. It seems to look better the longer I have it, holding up to quite a bit of wear and tear. And I’ve put it to the test — I’ve had it with me on a tuk-tuk ride in China, an overnight train in Europe, camping in Moab, Utah, and through many, many other incredible travel memories. And I have every plan to pack it with me on countless other adventures as soon as I can get back on the road.
