When I started using a weighted blanket about a year and a half ago, I immediately realized they were key to helping me sleep soundly throughout the night. (They’re known for reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety, after all.) But there was one problem: Every weighted blanket I tried always made my bed look messy and unmade.

So when I came across a new type of weighted blanket, the Napper by Bearaby, I instantly fell in love. Its chunky knit style resembled the trendy blankets I kept seeing on Instagram, so I knew I had to try it. Unlike typical weighted blankets that are filled with tiny beads (which can be annoying when they move around inside), the Tree Napper relies on its heavy hand-knit fabric to evenly distribute the weight — and it actually works.

I’m normally restless at night, but this woven blanket feels like a comforting hug that helps me relax. It calms my mind and body enough for me to fall asleep in a timely manner. Plus, I love how nice the Napper looks when folded at the foot of my bed. I can even drape it across my couch in the living room, and no one would ever know it’s a weighted blanket just by looking at it.

Bearaby makes two different types of this weighted blanket: the Cotton Napper, which is made of organic cotton, and the Tree Napper, which is made of Tencel, a sustainable material with cooling properties (it’s perfect for hot sleepers).

Both versions are available in three weights, ranging from 15 to 25 pounds. While most experts recommend using a weighted blanket that’s around 10 percent of your body weight, everyone’s preferences are different. If you aren’t sure which weight to choose, Bearaby’s website provides a handy three-question quiz to help you decide based on your weight, sleep habits, and wellness goals. I went with the 15-pound Tree Napper and have found that the weight and fabric are perfect for me. It’s heavy enough that I feel the calming effects, but lightweight enough that I don’t get overheated, thanks to the breathable woven texture that allows air to flow through it.

Plenty of other people are obsessed with this weighted blanket, too. In fact, it’s so popular, it amassed a 21,000-person waitlist while it was previously sold out. But the good news is that all of Bearaby’s blankets are back in stock, along with five new colors of the Tree Napper, so now’s the perfect time to invest in your own before they’re gone again.
