When America’s favorite Duchess Meghan Markle was pregnant, her sartorial choices continued to captivate fans as she stepped out in sky-high pumps while into her third trimester. Her comfortable shoe choices, however, might have given us the most fashion inspo because she managed to find shoes that weren’t just super comfortable but that remained true to her stylish ways. Of her footwear choices, the Duchess of Sussex became the relatable royal of our dreams when she stepped out in Rothy’s flats.

The comfortable, durable flats aren’t just a customer favorite for how easy they are to walk in and travel with but because they’re low maintenance and a more sustainable shoe option than many of their peers. Made out of repurposed plastic water bottles — and now merino wool — each Rothy’s pair aims to limit our collective environmental footprint (literally). Because of the materials, the shoes are also machine washable — reducing the caretaking footprint on your life.

While the round- and pointed-toe flats have been the paradigms of the Rothy’s aesthetic for a while, earlier this week, the brand launched a collection with Italian designer Marta Ferri that features two square-toed styles made of the newest sustainable and washable material, merino wool. The new designs — the Merino Square ($155; and the Merino Square Loafer ($195; — are super on-trend and capitalize perfectly on this time of year as the wool fabric will keep your feet shielded from cooler temps.

Not only are the silhouettes and fabric a change-up for the brand, but the collaboration is also a venture into bolder color combinations and asymmetrical and checked patterns. We can’t wait to get our feet into these cozy, fashion-forward slipper shoes — and we’re assuming Meghan Markle can’t either as she gears up to travel again for the holidays.

Shop all the patterns from the new Rothy’s x Marta Ferri collection below — and act fast on the pair you love because these styles are limited-edition.
