Loungewear, at its best, is both polished and comfortable; it's a compilation of pieces that manage to feel great on your body for hours on end and look great when you happen to pass a reflective surface and inevitably check yourself out. Summersalt gets this, and its new collection of travelwear — available in sizes XS to XL — is the ultimate manifestation of comfort-meets-style.
The St. Louis–based brand was built on affordable, color-blocked swimwear that’s designed to move with you. Now, fresh off a $6-million round of fundraising, co-founders Reshma Chattaram Chamberlin and Lori Coulter are hoping to fill the rest of your suitcase. Their new, seven-piece travelwear collection is simple and sophisticated. It's made up of a wide-legged jumpsuit, long-sleeved, split-back top, a tuxedo-striped jogger, a tie-waist duster, two scarves, and a set of coordinated carrying pouches. The silhouettes are casual, while the fabric — a dreamy-soft vegan silk called TravelSoft — lends a more luxe look. Used for the jumpsuit and lounge set, it's lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, and fast-drying. It’s even got UPF 50+ sun protection, just like the brand’s swimwear.

When I first tried on the 24 Hour Jumpsuit (summersalt.com, $145) from the new collection, I felt chic. Even my boyfriend said, and I quote, "I don't like jumpsuits, and that's a nice jumpsuit. You should wear that somewhere." This is the highest form of fashion praise coming from him.
For fit reference, I’m 5'3" and usually a size 10 in bottoms, and the large was super flattering, especially when paired with the waist-tie. It was a touch too long when paired with flats, but nothing a quick hem couldn’t fix. Style-wise, it easily works on its own with heels and statement earrings for evenings out, layered with a white T-shirt and sneakers for a day spent in transit, or with shearling-lined slides and a cardigan for a lazy day of intermittent napping. And the cherry on top: pockets. Barely noticeable, passport-sized pockets. Can you tell I'm smitten?
