How to Get Karlie Kloss’ Polished but Comfy Travel Look
She’s got the perfect formula for an airport outfit.
When it comes to airport style, comfort is king. After all, if you’re about to spend seven hours on a plane stuck in the middle seat, wearing a body-con dress is probably a bad idea. That’s why we often opt for the most obvious and relaxed options in our closets (no, not PJs) — the good old jeans/T-shirt/sneakers or flats/leggings combos.
Unfortunately, these outfits also happen to be the definition of casual, which means they lack elegance, not to mention sophistication. Or, at least, that’s what we thought until we spotted a recent photo of Karlie Kloss making her way out of LAX.
The supermodel paired her Chanel ballet flats with ultra-slim black pants. But here’s where Kloss put her fashion background to work and completely surprised us.
While we would have slipped into a simple sweater and called it a day, she masterfully elevated this classic combination with a cool black-and-white printed, oversized button-up shirt and a gorgeous double-breasted coat by Max Mara to keep her warm and cozy. She accessorized her outfit with a pair of Saint Laurent wayfarer shades and hoop earrings.
This is the classiest way to dress up for a flight this season and stay comfortable at the same time. So if you’re headed somewhere exciting this month, take a page out of Kloss’ book and give your favorite sweatshirt a break in favor of more grown-up pieces.
