Chanel has long been one of the hottest names in fashion, so it was only fitting they’d host their latest catwalk in the hot spot of Cuba. The fashion house closed down the city’s central streets on Tuesday night to reveal their Resort 2017 Collection.

Celebrities from all over the world including Tilda Swinton, Vin Diesel, and Gisele Bundchen traveled to the island nation to experience the vogue event. Even the Castro family was in attendance to watch the sombrero-donning models strut between hundreds of colorful 1950s American cars rented for the show. The show, led by creative director Karl Lagerfeld, also featured Cuban music and models dancing down the street.

Chanel's decision to host Cuba's first major fashion show underlined the changes taking place across the country after Fidel Castro's younger brother and current President, Raul Castro, took over.

This runway show is just one of Cuba's many new milestones. Barack Obama was the first president in almost 90 years to make a visit in 2016, and the Rolling Stones recently played a free concert in Havana. It’s no wonder Travel + Leisure named the country the Best Place to Travel in 2016.
