Travis DeRose recently spent two months traveling across Europe. But when it came time to take a picture in front of what he just saw, things got awkward. He didn’t know what to do or how to pose.

“Out of pure instinct, I decided to fight the awkwardness by moonwalking,” DeRose said.

So his friend began shooting video of DeRose moonwalking in front of every photo opp they passed on their travels. The result is a 28-second video wherein DeRose moonwalks through 13 countries including Iceland, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy and Greece.

DeRose and his friend made the video on his iPhone and mashed up all the clips together in iMovie after the trip. The final video makes “the idea of sitting through another typical iPhoto slideshow seem as antiquated as some of the ruins” DeRose slides in front of, he said.

For those who think it’s a great idea but haven't yet found the courage to try the dance move themselves, DeRose said he learned how to moonwalk from YouTube. So just queue up a few videos, get a cell phone camera recording and prepare for friends to show a lot more interest in vacation videos.
