New Yorkers Crowd the Streets to Get a Shot of the Year's Last Manhattanhenge
After Tuesday, the next Manhattanhenge won't be until 2017.
Manhattanhenge, when the sun aligns with the Manhattan's urban grid, isn't extremely rare, but it's rare enough to make it feel special — and to make it extremely popular with citydwellers looking for the perfect sunset pic.
Monday's display was highly anticipated, as this week marks the last Manhattanhenge viewings of 2016. If you missed Monday's performance, you can see a similar if slightly less exhilirating sunset on Tuesday (only half sun and not full).
If you miss Tuesday's sunset, you'll have to wait until May 2017 for the next Manhattanhenge.
Here are a few of the best photos from the streets of New York.
