Located in the East River between the Bronx and Rikers Island, North Brother Island is not open to the public.

But that didn't stop Teddy Haggerty from getting some great views of the island with a drone.

Haggerty created the video with friends Scott Kalberer and Dave Erath, after first noticing the island while boating around the city, according to News 12.

The island once played an important role in history: North Brother was home to “Typhoid Mary” Mallon, who was quarantined in a facility on the island for years until her death. The facility later became an addiction center before it was ultimately closed in the 1960s.
