Adventures by Disney Just Announced 22 European River Cruises in 2024 — to France, Germany, Austria, and More

Ready to take your Disney adventure outside the theme parks? Adventures by Disney, the company's family travel arm, has just announced its European river cruise itineraries for 2024.

There are 22 departures throughout the year across eight itineraries, all of which sail for seven nights and eight days. Three of the more classic European river cruises are explorations of the Seine in France; the Rhine across France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands; and the Danube through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. There are also four themed itineraries. On both the Rhine and the Danube, Adventures by Disney is running family-friendly Christmas market cruises and adults-only gourmand cruises, including food and wine on the Rhine and Oktoberfest on the Danube.

Brand new in 2024 is the Magical Holidays itinerary on the Danube, during which guests will ring in the new year on the ship — a first for Adventures by Disney's river cruise program. The voyage will travel through Austria and Hungary. Given that the sailing lines up with winter vacation, we suspect this will be a mighty popular sailing.

For these sailings, Adventures by Disney charters ships from the upscale river cruise line AmaWaterways, a family-owned business that has a fleet of 22 river ships in Europe, plus vessels in Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, and Egypt.

Each Adventures by Disney sailing has Disney Adventure Guides to lead the journey and includes most meals (with wine and beer for adults), free Wi-Fi, and, of course, Disney magic throughout. As for excursions, Adventures by Disney caters to all ages, interests, and activity levels; some excursions include Alpine tobogganing in Germany's Black Forest, touring Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, and visiting the historic beaches of Normandy, France.
