Top Breakfast Restaurants in Jackson Hole
When days are as activity-filled as they are in Jackson, breakfast is important. Pearl Street Bagels, named for NYC’s Pearl Street and with locations in Wilson and downtown Jackson, has been the standard grab-and-go for two decades for its fresh-baked bagels and house made cream cheese flavors like honey walnut and Mexican. Now (finally!) offering giant pre-made bagel sandwiches with egg, cheese, and bacon or sausage, they’ve made an even stronger case for themselves. But Jacksonites do not exist on bagels alone. Ski towns the world over tend to do great breakfast burritos and Jackson is no exception. Equal parts cosmopolitan and cowboy, we’ve also got vegan breakfast spots, a French-inspired café, and restaurants that serve heaping piles of standard American fare that will keep skiers and horsemen going all day long. Whatever you’re in the mood for, one of the spots on the list below should satisfy.

In downtown, Lotus Café is a no brainer for vegetarians, vegans, and those sensitive to gluten. But omnivores love Lotus’ breakfast too—the menu includes bison sausage with biscuits and gravy, pumpkin and fresh ginger spelt pancakes, eggs accompanied by quinoa and steamed kale, and huevos rancheros. Best of all? Lotus serves breakfast until 2:30 daily.
Nora’s Fish Creek Inn
In 2012, the James Beard Foundation named Nora’s Fish Creek Inn, in a log cabin at the base of Teton Pass in Wilson as one of America’s Classics. Locals wondered what took so long. Nora’s has had lines out its door—no reservations taken—for decades for its ginormous country style breakfasts. Its corned beef hash and sourdough banana bread are particular favorites.
A newcomer to the valley’s breakfast scene—it was born out of the 2013 renovation of Snow King Resort—Haydens Post won me over with its green eggs and ham, salmon hash, and oversized cinnamon roll (served in a cast iron skillet), all served in a contemporary western open space looking out on Snow King Mountain.
From the painting of a stick of butter at the entrance to the wooden spoons on the wall, marble-topped tables, mismatched antique tea cups and silver, and, finally, the gorgeous, gorgeous cakes and pastries, Persephone is pretty much perfect. For baked goods, it’s hard to beat the almond croissants. Don’t miss the menu of hot breakfast and lunch items from the kitchen though.
If you don’t call ahead to order a DOG breakfast burrito you might end up waiting half an hour. Or more. This is because DOG’s burritos are the valley’s biggest caloric bang-for-the-buck. Literally. $6 (or so, depending on what you get) buys you 1.5 pounds of eggs, diced onion, tomato, jalapeños, fried potatoes, cheese and diced bacon, ham, or sausage.
