Work is work, but most would agree that working from a café in a new city or a pool in a tropical paradise is substantially better.

This global mentality is becoming the mindset of today’s workforce, which is desperately in need of a boost. Gallup’s 2017 State of the American Workplace discovered that only 33 percent of employees are engaged at work, meaning that two-thirds of the workforce spends their work days checked out and uninspired. Could jobs that allow you to travel be the fix?

According to recent research from LinkedIn, it’s a possibility. LinkedIn career expert Blair Decembrele told Travel + Leisure by email that “41% of millennials think having a good job today means having flexibility so they don’t have to sit 9-5 at a desk, and more than half (51%) of professionals say they are proudest to work at companies that promote work-life balance.”

If flexibility and a better work-life balance is needed to boost employee engagement, then travel-friendly jobs may be the solution. From remote positions to international-based jobs to gigs that require international travel, the data team at LinkedIn has curated a list of travel-friendly opportunities — and they’re all available right now.

Lead Editor, Privacy & Security, The New York Times Company

If you have writing and editing experience you can help The New York TimesWirecutter team navigate the world of online privacy and security — from the safety of your home office (err, couch).

Senior External Communications Manager - Food, Marks and Spencer

If you’ve ever dreamed of living in London and have a passion for food, look no further. In this position you’ll develop and deliver a media relations plan for the company’s transforming food market — while enjoying the perks of London, of course.

This Racine, Wisconsin, based job allows qualified applicants to work with renowned brands — think Glade and Windex — while offering up to 25 percent international travel.

In this remote-based position you’ll help libraries improve their access to digital materials (think ebooks and audiobooks) while promoting the library online marketplace.

Digital Fundraising Consultant, World Food Programme

If Spanish is your mother tongue and you’re fluent in oral and written English, this Madrid-based job will allow you to work with the Spanish market as part of the company’s global fundraising team — from sunny Madrid, of course.

Senior Manager, PR (International), Away

This job may be based in New York City, but candidates “must be open to international travel and able to manage prompt responsiveness across multiple time zones around the world.” In addition, Away gives its employees generous PTO packages and a sabbatical (with bonus!) after three years with the company.

Digital Crisis Worker, The Trevor Project

In this remote gig, you’ll spend your days supporting youth directly as part of the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth.

Community Organizer, Airbnb

If you’re fluent in both English and Italian, you’ll have a shot at this gig with Airbnb’s Italian team. Based in Milan, you’ll act as a brand ambassador for Airbnb by building close working relationships with community leaders and hosts. Travel throughout Italy is required and there’s potential for international travel.

Marketing and Communications Associate, Trees for the Future

Based in Maryland, this job includes opportunities for national and international travel, while giving employees a cause worth working for: helping farmers in developing nations generate health, wealth, and resilience to avoid hunger and poverty.

Communications Specialist, National Center for Special Education in Charter Schools

Applicants based on the East Coast are preferred for this remote role and the job includes producing mission-driven content, strategic communications, and public relations tasks.

Strategic Solutions Manager, Shutterstock

You’ll be based in either Melbourne or Sydney for this job, which will have you developing new business opportunities, increasing revenue, and driving customer satisfaction. The biggest perk? After a long workday, you can hit the beach.

Manager of Foodservice Engagement, The Good Food Institute

This remote gig is perfect for vegans and vegetarians, as one of your primary roles will be to influence restaurant chains and non-commercial foodservice companies to shift to a plant-based food strategy in response to growing consumer demand.

Senior Manager - Royalties Recordings, BMG UK - The New Music Company

An annual gig allowance and over 25 days of annual leave are provided with this music-focused job in London. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing recordings royalties for both frontline and catalogue artists and labels.

From a home base in Washington, D.C., you’ll be traveling internationally up to 20 percent of the time to conduct staff training and provide contract management assistance for this child-focused organization.
