This Luxury Barge in France Is Looking for the Perfect Couple to Host Cruises This Summer (Video)
Silver Swan Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic couple to work as a host/hostess and deckhand on a luxury barge in France over the summer of 2020. The couple will be in charge of events, parties, guest needs, and some navigation of the barge itself.
The ideal candidates for these positions are a couple with hospitality experience and proven experience working together and communicating well. If you and your partner are communicative and organized, you might just be perfect for this job.
According to the job application page, the couple will be responsible for navigating the various waterways safely; using various ropes, knots, and radio and navigational equipment (with some training); managing events and dinner parties; some table service, clean-up, and ensuring all the guests’ needs are met.
In return, the couple will receive £1,100 (around $1,423 USD) each per month plus private accommodation on the barge, all meals, holiday pay, tips from guests, and lots of opportunities to see the most gorgeous parts of the French countryside (and taste some excellent French wines while you’re at it).
And, the couple will be able to use the barge for themselves when it’s not in use for guests — as long as it is clean and presentable when their next guests arrive, according to a statement from Silver Swan Recruitment. The barge itself will cruise up and down different waterways in France, including the River Seine and the Nivernais Canal.
If you’re not too well-versed in boating, not to worry. Training will be available for the ideal candidate who is excited and willing to learn.
In order to apply, simply fill out the job application form on the Silver Swan Recruitment website. You and your partner should upload your resumes as well as write a short message about how you’re perfect for the job. The job itself will run from mid-May to the end of August. Applications must be sent by mid-March.
Because of the number of applications, only shortlisted applicants will receive a reply.
