You don’t have to settle for a cookie-cutter vacation rental.

For people who want to travel like a local but also feel like they’re being pampered, accommodation websites like Airbnb or VRBO can sometimes leave something to be desired. There are some amazing rentals, but it can take some digging.

Now people who love travel and high design have a new destination for their vacation rental: PlansMatter.

Started by Connie Lindor and Scott Muellner, the architectural rental site works similarly to Airbnb, but focuses on modern spaces.

“We love experiencing amazing design, and we believe good design has the power to inspire and improve life from small to large ways,” according to a company statement.

Some of PlansMatter’s rentals include retreats in the mostly in the U.S. and Canada, with a few in Europe, designed by architectural masters like Rudolph M. Schindler, Brian McKay-Lyons, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

And just because the rentals are beautifully designed, that does not mean they all come with an extravagant price tag. The rentals, just like other vacation websites, can fit a variety of budgets, with spaces that range from less than $100 to upwards of $1,000 per night.

The company hopes to expand globally, making it even easier for design lovers to find the perfect stay wherever they go.
